Why is some of your fish different shapes?

Each fish comes in different sizes and shapes which means they all have to be filleted differently. Read about our different kinds of fish and what separates them on our “About Us” page.

Where are your potatoes from?

All of our potatoes are grown in Ontario. Each potato is hand chipped and prepped to order. Learn more about our process on our ABOUT US PAGE.

Whats in your coleslaw?

Our coleslaw is a family recipe that is vinegar based. We found that the vinegar based coleslaw compliments our fried foods much nicer than the creamy kind. We make it fresh daily for you to enjoy!

What kind of oil do you use?

Our fish and chips are traditional style except for one thing: It’s healthier! Instead of using lard, we use soy bean oil. It has 0 mg of Cholesterol. It contains 0% hydrogenated fat. Our oil is also more eco friendly as we have limited our packaging waste which means one less thing in our landfills.

Do you offer something other than fish and chips?

We get it, not everyone likes fish. We understand and that is why our menu has a wide variety of options including burgers, chicken and salads that everyone can enjoy. There’s something for everyone. Check out our extensive Menu here.

Do you have gluten free options? I have an allergy.

At this time, we offer grilled halibut, grilled shrimp, and grilled chicken souvlaki for gluten friendly options. Please notify our staff if you have any allergy and we will always do our best to accommodate.

What days do you have specials?

We have specials on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays! Check out your local location to learn more about our specials.

Why are your restaurants designed the way they are?

Halibut House prides itself on cleanliness and transparency. That’s why all of our restaurants feature open concept dining rooms with white subway tiles. From our counter you can see right through to the kitchen where your meal is being prepared. This demonstrates our dedication to cleanliness and ensures that all of our staff are always accountable.
